I love IM.
It's so cool to have a loosely coupled conversation. It's possible to hang out with someone and talk without actually having to worry about awkward pauses or spending the entire time just hanging out.
You can acutally do stuff, and still have a loosely coupled IM conversation spanning a few hours.

We got a new couch.
It's so nice and comfy :) So much better than the old one. Supposedly seats one half person less, but take the side pillows away, and that's no problem.
