There are two kinds of people who would vote for bush:
The ignorant and the cynical.
I think the majority of the people who voted for Bush are ignorant, while the people who paid to influence them and keep them ignorant are cynical.
The only way I find I can deal with this thought is by apathy. If I start actually thinking of the implications of 4 more years with George Bush, my blood boils.
I think a lot of the work the early presidents did will be undone. The separation of church and state will be all but gone. The constitution, which was written intentionally leaving out religion, will have an fundamentalist christian amendment against gay rights. Weapon laws will be relaxed. Abortion will be abolished at a state level. Stem cell research will be crippled. The country will be polarized beyond belief.
I think this is a step 60-100 years back in time.
