I’m happy to release Brian’s Threaded Comments 1.1, which fixes some of the previous issues:
- It works with WordPress 1.3
- Collapsing now works properly in Internet Explorer
- Handles deep nesting better, by cutting off nesting below a certain point, turning the thread “flat”
There are two settings you can edit in the briansnestedcomment.php file:
- Whether or not the font should become a bit smaller for each nesting level. Personally, I like it but I figured others may not.
- How deep comments may nest before comments in a given thread are turned “flat”
Installing the new version will not fix threads that are already nested ridiculously deep, but will merely prevent people from doing it in the future.
It’s worth mentioning that the version in the plugin is actually much better than the one you see on this site – I have not yet gotten around to installing it here yet – I will soon though.
